It’s The Countdown’s first birthday and to celebrate Paul and Wayne have put together their biggest episode yet! Are the majority of reviewers correct or does Zach Snyder deliver the goods in this DC Universe expanding film?
Then the guys Rewind, Be Kind 1989’s Tango & Cash, with at least one host breaking rank to cry foul on this cheesy action classic, before they each rank their 10 best rivalries depicted in film with all of the controversies, finger pointing and laughs you’ve come to expect from an episode of The Countdown.
But wait, there's more? Wayne, Paul and Ale then answer all the questions submitted through the course of the week by listeners for the anniversary ep! And stick around for some exciting announcements regarding the show in April...

This week Paul and Wayne answer all these questions and more as they reveal their favourite ever plot twists in movie history. So, yes, they spoil the hell out of anything they talk about, but fear not: None of the films discussed are from the last 8 years!

Episode 50: 10 Cloverfield Lane review & Top 10 Single Location Films
Tuesday Mar 15, 2016
Tuesday Mar 15, 2016
For their 50th episode, Paul and Wayne take a look at 10 Cloverfield Lane and try to decide whether it truly is a sequel to Cloverfield (2008). What they are clear on, however, is how amazing John Goodman is in the film.
Then, inspired by 10 Cloverfield Lane, they count down their favourite films that are effectively limited to one location. LISTEN as the guys try to justify some of their choices, MARVEL as Wayne pulls more than one film out of his (self-proclaimed) beautiful brown ass; and cock an EYEBROW as Paul almost mispronounces the word "premise" for the 754th time.

Episode 48: Zoolander 2 review & Top 10 Actor-Director Films (w/ Brigit)
Monday Feb 29, 2016
Monday Feb 29, 2016
This week the boys welcome back special guest host Brigit to help review Zoolander 2, the Ben Stiller directed sequel to the genuinely funny original from 2001. Does this sequel 15 years in the making hold up? Or is a big ol' bag of butt holes? (Hint: You're gonna need a BIG bag.)
Then Brigit leads off in counting down the best films featuring actors who also directed themselves. And though Zoolander 2 fails to come anywhere near this list, there's debate early as Brigit offers some unexpected choices. But all's well that ends well, as the hosts are in complete agreement about the two best directors who appear in their own work.
Special shot outs to both of our promoted shows this week, as we'll be appearing on them over the next fortnight! Episode 47: The Oscars Special Vol 1
Tuesday Feb 23, 2016
Tuesday Feb 23, 2016
Dust off the tuxedos, slip into those evening gowns, and don your shiniest pair of shoes because it’s Oscar time on The Countdown! Yes the 88th Academy Awards are nigh, and to mark the occasion, Paul and Wayne are taking a look back at the worst decisions the “illustrious” Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have made over the last 40 or so years. Best Pictures, Actors, Actresses as well as an Academy award winning song are called into question, and not at all surprisingly, Paul gets a little hot under the collar regarding the injustices inherent in some of the decisions. Wayne attempts to play peace maker by saying most of the films were “delightful” as often as possible, but does it have a calming effect? Hit play to find out …
Then the guys take a look at seven of the major categories for this year’s awards and nominate both what they want to win and what they think will win. Just to make it interesting they agree to stakes on who will get more of the latter choices correct – stakes that will affect a future episode of The Countdown in a significant way!
The boys also premiere a new segment, and of course, such an occasion demands a new opener drawing upon a dodgy old song …

Episode 46: Deadpool review & Top 10 R-Rated Action Films
Monday Feb 15, 2016
Monday Feb 15, 2016
Do you like comic book films but wish they had a harsher edge? Have you been clamouring for a foul-mouthed anti-hero to take out the trash amid copious amounts of blood-splatter? Well, Paul and Wayne have, and as a result, they this week review the ultra-anticipated Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds. Are the rumblings true? Is it the greatest comic book film ever? The guys pour over all the details and express their considerable hope that this will pave the way for more R-Rated goodness.
They then turn their attention to one of the toughest countdowns they've ever had to construct: R-rated action films! And whilst it all starts out cordially enough, things take a major turn for the worse as the boys reveal their respective Number Ones. Ladies and gentlemen, this one gets messy!
The guys also Check It Out with the latest in movie news, as well as spin promos for Michael Winter @getwisecrackin & getwisecrackin.com, along with Paint it Black comics @PIBComics & pibcomics.com - two fantastic #PodernFamily shows you should check out!

Episode 45: The Music Extravaganza (w/ Gareth's Random Ramblings)
Tuesday Feb 09, 2016
Tuesday Feb 09, 2016
That special type of Countdown Chaos reigns this week as Paul and Wayne attempt TWO countdowns targeting music and musicians and their role in films. And to help with the first of those countdowns - namely, which non-musician actors offer the best singing performances - the guys call upon Gareth and Bex from Gareth's Random Ramblings podcast to add their lists!
Controversy quickly brews as the guests offer a few picks from so far out of left field even Wayne can't see them from his normal position. These make for much head-scratching, mock offence and, most importantly, plenty of laughs!
Then the guys settle back down to countdown the best films featuring a musician turned actor - and once again things get controversial on a podcast that might have bitten off more than it could chew!
All this AND the guys re-cast The Usual Suspects in their Cool For Cast segment (because that's totally a musical), as well as promos for @FYFCpodcasts http://www.fyfc.ca/ and @thepoopculture http://www.poopculture.com/ - two fantastic #PodernFamily shows you should check out!

Episode 44: Top 10 Last 10 #6
Monday Feb 01, 2016
Monday Feb 01, 2016
This week the guys settle in to mini-review a wide range of the films they've most recently seen, starting with the worst and ending with the best. Yes it's the sixth volume of the Top 10 Last 10 countdowns.
Can Wayne sit through and enjoy a long movie? Will Paul review too many indie horror films? And which of the guys thinks The Night Before is a good comedy? (Hint: There are no prizes for guessing correctly.) Oh and stick around until the end of the Ep to hear one of the new series of promos we've cut to advertise the show!

Strap on your six shooters, tilt your stetson, and make sure your best spurs are a-janglin', because this week The Countdown goes west! Starting with a review of Quentin Tarantino's 8th film, The Hateful Eight, Paul and Wayne explore many things Western - and more specifically spend the whole podcast debating what does and does not constitute a Western (Hint: Wayne's definition is broad enough to "almost" include The Last Samurai.)
During their countdown, Paul defends the old school Westerns while somehow managing to miss classics like Once Upon a Time in the West, while Wayne mixes farts with a pensive Kevin Costner by way of Robert Rodriguez (good luck working that one out). The boys also have time to premiere a new segment created by good friend of the show, Rosco.
Promos this week are from our two recent guests. Firstly big ups to The Epic Films Guys who have opened up a whole new audience for us and are top blokes to boot.
