Episode 130: Top 10 Happy (Movie) Endings / Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Tuesday Sep 26, 2017
Tuesday Sep 26, 2017

You know what the world can use more of? Happy god-damned endings. Instead of kids getting their arms bitten off by a damn clown, how about some freaking positivity up in here? To this end, the boys get happy and slightly gooey in the nether-regions this week by counting down their top ten happy endings in movies! Of course, the requisite genital-based humour is prolific with such subject matter, so prepare yourselves for even more references to touching oneself than the show typically dishes up.
And because they love them some Matthew Vaughn, the boys review the highly anticipated Kingsmen: The Golden Circle. Did the film live up to the hype? Or was the movie hobbled with a bad case of sequel-itis? Tune in and find out!

Episode 129: Top 10 Acting Debuts / American Assassin
Tuesday Sep 19, 2017
Tuesday Sep 19, 2017

After the horrors and resultant bad dreams of the last Ep, the guys this week went for something much nicer as they targeted the very best film acting debuts. Could this be the Countdown where Paul and Wayne agree on just about everything? Will they have the same Number Ones? Or do they turn on each other right when you thought this was going to be the nicest Ep of the show ever?
Well, no. Mainly because one of them disliked American Assassin, this week's feature review, while the other inexplicably liked it. (See if you can guess who is who ...) But that's all part of the fun, right?

Episode 128: Top 10 Most Disturbing Films / IT
Tuesday Sep 12, 2017
Tuesday Sep 12, 2017

This week, Wayne pays up for losing the Oscars bet earlier in the year by seeing the new interpretation of Stephen King's massive novel, It, directed by Andy Muschetti. Does this horror hater find something to enjoy in the shenanigans of Pennywise the Clown, or does he give It the big brown thumbs down? Then Paul doubles down on Wayne's discomfort as the guys countdown their Top 10 Most Disturbing films ever. It's all darkness, distress and human suffering - and that's just from Wayne trying to make his list! And though the laughs may come less plentifully with such nasty topics, rest assured there's still some red-hot attempts at the usual non-PC humour and bad taste that the show (read: Wayne) has become known for! All this AND a new segment which Paul debuts, as well as the photo which has had many a Photoshopper wet themselves with glee! #DespondentWayne Time Stamps Recount: 2:48 - 9:45 New Segment Debuts: 9:45 - 11:36 IT NON-spoiler Thoughts: 12:24 - 23:08 IT SPOILER-Filled Review: 23:08 - 33:23 Top 10 Most Disturbing Films: 34:17 - 1:18:07 Listener Feedback: 1:18:07 - 1:25:27 This week's promos are for Hollywood Already Did It podcast @hollywoodadi and our #PodFix campadres, the More Gooder Than Podcast @MGTpodcast. Episode 127: VERSUS Part 3 - Originals vs Remakes / The Hitman's Bodyguard
Tuesday Sep 05, 2017
Tuesday Sep 05, 2017

In the storied history of The Countdown, Paul and Wayne have managed to both be on brief a good 124 out of 126 times. But this week, it all goes pear shaped. Which is to say in this Ep, Paul appropriately sets about determining what is better, Original Films or their Remakes as per the established VERSUS format, while Wayne .... Sigh ... While Wayne pits 10 Originals films against their Remakes and decides which of each he preferred. As you can imagine, Paul is incredulous, Wayne is defensive, and the two butt heads over the eventual result. ie. It's more of the usual chaos that defines The Countdown.
The boys also kick off the Ep by reviewing the critically mauled but moderately successful, The Hitman's Bodyguard, and regular listeners might be surprised by both of their reactions to this Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson buddy action comedy.

Episode 126: Top 10 Most Overrated Films / Logan Lucky (w/ Netflix N Swill)
Tuesday Aug 29, 2017
Tuesday Aug 29, 2017

This week the boys are joined by Pod Fix Network brothers, Dan and Caleb from the Netflix 'N Swill show, to tackle an extremely controversial topic: The Top 10 Most Overrated Films! To say these lists ruffle a few feathers among the co-hosts would be a massive understatement, making for some very comic reactions and many hurt feelings.
As just a sampler of what to expect: Learn who has a thing against Stanley Kuberick; marvel as someone hates on Jurassic Park; shake your head in amazement as Donnie Darko gets a bollocking; and much, much more (seriously, Caleb's #1 will blow your mind) ...
The guys also review Steven Soderbergh's latest oddball heist movie, Logan Lucky, and opinions are equally divided on whether it is worth your time.

Episode 125: Top 10 Stephen King Films / The Dark Tower
Tuesday Aug 22, 2017
Tuesday Aug 22, 2017

After the fireworks and hurt butts of last Episode, Paul and Wayne (mostly) agree to a ceasefire as they dedicate an Episode to the *ahem* king of modern day fiction, Stephen King. The boys kick things off by reviewing The Dark Tower, the 95 minute film from Sony Pictures which is meant to appease fans of a series of novels that collectively spans more than 4000 pages. Is it better than the critics would have you believe? Or do Wayne and Paul also tear the Tower a new one?
Then the guys get down to identifying the very best films adapted by works from Stephen King, and though Paul predictably has more horror films on his list than Wayne, regular listeners might be surprised by just how similar these two efforts are. You can tell Paul and Wayne share that surprise, since their discussions this week are generally even-tempered, not very foul-mouthed, and (somewhat shockingly) rational across the board. (Except for during the Recount when last week’s demons are again brought to the fore …)

Episode 124: Top 10 Rom-Coms / The Big Sick
Tuesday Aug 15, 2017
Tuesday Aug 15, 2017

This week things get a might testy as Paul suffers through a show all about his least favourite genre: Rom-coms! The boys review the well-received The Big Sick before counting down their Top 10 Romantic Comedies, and it's fair to say that things spiral out of control by the end of these lists. Wayne takes particular umbrage at some of Paul's choices, resulting in some short-tempered banter and a defensive use of The Soundboard - which doesn't help Wayne's overall disposition at all!

This week's MASSIVE Ep features not just a feature review for the hotly anticipated (by people other than Wayne and Paul) War for the Planet of the Apes, but two, that's right TWO Countdowns! The first is a mini-Countdown of the best trailers from San-Diego Comic Con in the boys' Check It Out segment, before the main review, the latest Top 10 Last 10.
Just how much monkeying around is there? And how many of the guys' selections ape one another's choices? Plus is there a third monkey-based pun that should have gone here? Christoper Nolan's critically acclaimed Dunkirk has arrived meaning the guys charged off to the cinema to see it. Well, Paul charged off; Wayne was dragged along not quite kicking and screaming. So is it any surprise that they had very different reactions to the film? Find out how different amid a barrage of bad language, incredulity, and the Soundboard being put to very good use!
