This week The Countdown goes topical as this Ep drops on the day of the 2020 US Election. So Paul & Wayne decided to jump on that bandwagon by talking the Top 10 US Presidential Films (for which they should have thanked and totally forgot to Chris O'Neill for the stellar idea - sorry Chris!)

 

Of course this is a pretty loose brief, so Wayne immediately goes in a weird direction, which gets's Paul's goat, resulting in incredulity, umbrage and NSFW language, but it all culminates in Wayne's brain shutting down mid-Ep and Paul genuinely fearing for his co-host for a few moments.

For this week's feature, Paul & Wayne hit the courtroom for some drama in the form of Aaron Sorkin's The Trial of the Chicago 7. This based on a true story Netflix release initially ptompts the guys to have a ten minute debate about whether a) films exist purely to entertain and b) Sorkin scripts contain realistic dialogue, before they finally get down to business.

 

Does this one deliver for Netflix? Is Frank Langella the greatest venerable actor doing the rounds at the moment? And does Yahya Abdul-Mateen II make up for his abominably bad performance in Aquaman?

Good friend, great podcaster and supporter of the show, Gerald, AKA G-Banger, returns for this month's Bonus Ep. And because it's Halloween and the "spooky season", the topic is of course horror related, and that equally obviously means Wayne is nowhere to be found!

 

So it is that G-Banger joins Paul to countdown the Top 5 Horror Films of 2020. It's not been a great year for much of anything, let's be honest, but there are a bunch of quality indie horror flicks which have made their way to streaming services which everyone can enjoy right now.

From films that were MEANT to be big, but bombed hard through to those that were massive financial successes, but sucked royally despite these dollars earned, Wayne and Paul are here to name and shame, and have a few laughs while they're at it.

This week, Wayne and Paul are reviewing all eight episodes of the second season of Amazon Prime's The Boys. Amazingly, the "C" word only gets uttered three times through this entire review, but is that a good thing? Does Wayne find the second season too harsh for his delicate sensibilities? Or is Paul too psychopathic to appreciate exploding heads might be traumatising for some people?

This week is a bit of a love-letter to the long term fans of the show as Paul and Wayne confront one another over the films they think the other has most egregiously misjudged. In other words, they're both counting down the top 10 films they love which the other guy hates.

 

This one has all the bad language, wailing and gnashing of teeth that you would imagine, as well as more Soundboard than you could possibly hope for ... and its all in the name of a few laughs. And who couldn't use a few of those given the state of the world at the moment?

Neither of the boys even knew what the title of this film meant before viewing it, but Wayne was 100% not on board as he believed it was a horror film.

This week on The Countdown the Top 10 Last 10 returns as the guys mini-review ten films they've recently seen but have yet to cover from worst to best. This allows Paul to focus on a bunch of the bigger VOD releases in recent times, while Wayne is completely random in his film coverage - so much so that he can barely remember what number he is up to when working through his list!

 

So listen in as Paul and Wayne clash over what women want, and generally laugh their way through these films which weren't good or big enough to get their own feature review ...
