This is drama-mystery-horror-pulp mash-up is very much outside Wayne's wheelhouse, but is right smack bang in the middle of Paul's, so will their reactions be that predictable? Also: How does the mash up between important social issues and pulpy horror hold up? And who gets completely caught up in whether there are spaceships in the show?

So Paul and Wayne this week take it upon themselves to call out their very best (or is that worst?) cinematic examples of these self-centered, slick and smarmy a-holes who will stop at almost nothing to achieve their - usually nefarious - ends. The boys were extremely fortunate to attend one of the earliest media screenings in the world for the new blockbuster from Christoper Nolan, and now the embargo has lifted they're here to talk about the film with a 100% GUARANTEE OF NO SPOILERS being mentioned. They don't even state the gimmick of the film and discuss no plot beyond the one-sentence synopsis at the top of review.

But they couldn't contain their thoughts about the $200 million blockbuster, so here is an immediate reaction/review in which they do manage to answer the following questions:

1) Is Tenet going to resuscitate the ailing movie theatre industry?

2) Will they each see the film a second time at the theatre? and

3) Who is still struggling to understand what they saw?

Netflix recently dropped another sizably budgeted superhero action-adventure film on the world, and of course, the guys were quickly on hand to determine whether it was worth your time.

 

Will Project Power from the directors of Catfish and the writer of the upcoming Batman film make a favourable impression? Or is it yet another disappointing film which would have disappeared within a week had it been cinematically released?

The classic review is back! And it's for Die Hard! Die Motherflippin' Hard! Wayne and Paul are so excited one of them claims this is the greatest action film ever made, but both love Bruce Willis as the everyday hero who saves a skyscraper full of innocent people a group of terrorists headed by the incredible Alan Rickman.

They're less a fan of Bonnie Bedelia's hair though ...

This week is the yang to last week's ying as the boys countdown the films which FAILED to fool them. That is, plot twists they called early on or plot developments that seemed obvious to them all along. Along the way, they manage to call out marketing companies who cut trailers together, and suggest superhero films should stop fake-killing their main characters.

 

PLUS the guys give away another Countdown prize pack, and there's a new grab on the Soundboard which Paul plays to good (and repetitive) effect!

It's the first decently budgeted film released back into theatres in some territories around the world, and Western Australia is one of those territories. As such, the boys jetted out to the cinema and saw Russy Crowe's new thriller, Unhinged.

 

Is Crowe now the biggest star in Hollywood again? Wayne certainly thinks so, but maybe not for the reasons you think. While Paul is perplexed by the overall message the film is putting out there.
