It's the topic "they" said couldn't be done. Find ten quality Australian television shows and try to sell them to a largely unsuspecting and mercifully unaware public. Well, Wayne and Paul are not ones to shy away from a challenge - unless it's about watching a lot of films, in Wayne's case, or horror films, or international films, or anything not really involving a superhero or gross-out humour ... Come to think of it, this wasn't a good direction for the show notes, so let's start again ...

 

Wayne is a bit of a wuss about watching most things, but not about watching late night TV, so learn something new on this week's show as the boys take you on a tour of (mostly classic) Aussie television and try to convince you there are diamonds hidden in that there rough.

 

Do either of the boys resort to an Aussie soap? Can Paul find an Aussie horror show to include on his list? And will Wayne include a show on his list purely because it featured nudity during his teenage years?

This Episode is probably the dumbest idea Wayne has ever had, yet Paul idiotically chose to roll with it and now here you all are.

 

The Top 10 Gross Out Film Scenes is the shortest Countdown Episode of the podcast ever released, and with very good reason. The boys manage to gross each other and themselves out in describing these scenes, to the point where there is the occasional (not put on) dry retch. If that doesn't dissuade you, then this might: This is also the Episode where the guys rank the "best" bodily secretions to eat through to the worst.

 

You have been warned. Do not eat while listening to the Episode and please forgive the guys their folly, so that, hopefully, the Countdown will continue ...

It's been a few months since the guys have been able to put together a Bonus Ep for you fine folk, and with a wedding having occurred and then a snap lockdown, as well as some knee surgery, this last month wasn't any better.

But rather than leave you wanting, the boys decided to re-issue an interview Paul did with actress Jenette Goldstein (Near Dark, T2) about four years back - mostly tackling her iconic role as Vasquez in James Cameron's classic, Aliens. But they also cover what Jenette has been up to in more recent years, including her line of bras which can be found at Jenette's Bras.

 

The podcast has many more listeners these days, so hopefully this will be new to the vast majority of you, and for those who may have listened all those years ago, have a chuckle at Paul geeking out at interviewing the actor who brought to life of his favourite characters of all time...

Who from Seinfeld will get the nom? Who is the biggest jerk on the US version of The Office? And which of the guys will try to shoe-horn in the entire cast of a sitcom?

In this review boys are very pleasantly surprised by the new adult animated series from Robert Kirkman, Invincible, now streaming its first season on Amazon Prime. So surprised that they decided to review the first half of the series rather than wait for it to conclude.

 

Paul initially thinks its another standard superhero origin story but is soon won over by the hard left turn the series takes, while Wayne is more open-minded - superhero media being his jam. But who will be left more impressed by the mid-point of the series?

This week, the popular Top 10 Last 10 format returns for the first time in 2021 and just before the Academy Awards occur. So in reviewing ten of their most recent watches not yet talked about on the show and ranking them from worst to best, Paul dedicates part of his list to Academy Award contenders (and another part to obscure B grade horrors), while Wayne goes on a George "Cloo-Cloo" marathon ... for no apparent relevant reason whatsoever.

 

Regardless, there are 20 mini-reviews here to both warn you off (crap starring Bruce Willis) and steer you toward (some fantastic) films, so dive right in with the boys, the water is fine.
