No, the guys are not reviewing your friend, Kate. That would be gross and inappropriate.  They're reviewing the Netflix movie, Kate. (Though if your friend looks like the Kate in this movie, hit Wayne up. He'd like to know how she's doing.)

Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars in the latest John Wick wannabe, as an assassin who has 24 hours to live and wants to find those responsible. Like, badly. Cue stylish fight scenes, violence, a terrible CGI-fused car chase, and more neon than you've seen - even on the streets of Tokyo - and you have yourself a film. But is it any good? Wayne was over the line as soon as MEW walked on screen, but Paul will take more convincing. Shock, horror.

This week - for their 500th main feed release! - the boys are gazing into their crystal balls and speculating on what new television shows (or their revivals) they hope will be most excellent. From sci-fi through fantasy to multi-camera comedy, this Ep has it all - including Paul once again getting a little excited and screwing up the episode number by the end of the recording. Wayne, meanwhile, is just a little too keen to see 93 more Star Wars television shows and is far more forgiving of the show that both guys labelled as (previously) having the worst finale EVER!

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings review

The MCU is back with it's 25th film and the second from Phase 4, but the guys have VERY different takes on whether this first outing for an Asian superhero hits the mark. Will this review degenerate into a verbal attack with insults and Soundboard aplenty? Or can there be a disagreement without the need for name-calling? It's a line ball call, but maybe the hosts are finally ready to grow up...?

Top 10 Hand to Hand Fight Scenes

It's a bit of a mix of previous topics on the show this week, as the boys countdown their favourite hand to hand fight scenes.

 

Clearly, Wayne was a bit giddy from making this list as not only did he get to mention his martial arts background twelve times during this Ep, but he also completely forgot which Captain America movie contains one of his all time best fight scenes. Paul, meanwhile, is clearly bucking for the show to get sponsorship in Indonesia, as almost half his list is comprised of films made there.

 

So, come break a choke-hold, get thrown through a plate glass window, or just bend an arm backwards until it snaps with the boys, as The Countdown continues ...

Candyman (2021) review

This week Wayne watches a horror film and - surprise, surprise - doesn't much enjoy himself even though there's much pontificating about art and muses and stuff. Paul, meanwhile, is so caught up in defending the film he totally forgets about one character the Candyman killed in a flashback which somewhat undermines what he likes about the film.

Reminiscence review

Welcome to the latest review of yet another disappointing Warner Brothers' film! This time it's the Inception-lite, Blade Runner-wannabe, Reminiscence.

 

Written and directed by Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy and starring Huge Jackedman and Rebecca Ferguson, this one had promise. Sadly, for Wayne, it also had Thandiwe Newton, whereas for Paul it was just poorly written. And it seems the world agrees, as it has quickly become one of the biggest box office flops of all time.

 

But it did inspire the guys to continue their discussion post sign off, so, there's that, I guess ...

Free Guy was finally dropped into cinemas this last week, and of course, Paul and Wayne were there to cover it for you, gentle listener. But if you are of a sensitive disposition, maybe skip this review, as one of the boys loved the crap out of Ry-Ry's latest feature, and the other ... not so much.

This Ep should surely come with a trigger warning for lovers of popular film as Paul and Wayne call out their ten most hated films with a Rotten Tomato Audience Score of 80% or over.

 

Sound convoluted? Just you wait! In fact, the challenge this week is two-fold ... Not only to figure out how the hell the guys decided to go with such a complicated topic, but also to not shut the Ep off once Wayne makes a base joke about one of your fave films, or Paul disses the same because Patrick Swayze was just too damn old!
