2023 arrives with all the fanfare of a wet fart as far as cinematic releases are concerned, but Paul and Wayne are never ones to give up. So when it comes to the latest internet-memed horror film, even Wayne takes his licks in order to deliver content for the show. Or, if you prefer, the show reviews a film which neither host were holding their breath over ...

White Noise review

Desperate times call for desperate measures and when it's early in the year and nothing of consequence is being released, it falls to the boys to review a $100 million Netflix release which, according to Wayne, looks like it was made for $12 million.

 

We're talking about White Noise here. Noah Bambauch's new film based on an "unfilmable" novel of the same name about, well, your guess is as good as mine ...

 

Is this a sleeper hit which fires off 2023 in the right way? Or is it an absolute waste of time and space which should have made the worst of the 2022 film lists of just about everybody?

Emacipation review

Will Smith returns to our screens after the infamous Slap-gate at the Oscars in March 2022, but is the world ready for him? Smith himself asked that question, and Wayne and Paul are ready to answer it having checked out his new film on AppleTV+, Emancipation.

 

It's directed by Wayne's favourite filmmaker (NOT!), Antoine Fuqua, so there's not much he's going to be positive on with Emancipation ... or is there? Paul, meanwhile, is trying to decide whether he's watching a survival thriller set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, or a superhero origin story ...
