Countdown #413
When you talk a topic as wide an indie music from any era, two things immediately become apparent: 1) it's really hard to define what an indie song is, and 2) Wayne can't work out what songs he has actually put on his list.
So it's fortunate that B-Dizzle from the We Watched a Thing podcast returns to the show to help right the listing ship with a list so indie, Short Round can almost be heard saying "No time for love,. Dr Jones!" with every pick. (Yes, I know. Dad joke. Deal with it.)
Wayne meanwhile manages to screw the brief up, AGAIN, while Paul is too busy finding snippets of the songs mentioned to torture him with the Soundboard.
But fear not, because this Episode is full of so many awesome songs, your latest music playlist is going to keep you entertained for days.
So tune in for a much better indie music-a-thon than Triple J has provided since 2009, as The Countdown continues ...

Countdown #411
This episode could very well be sub-titled 'Old Men Shake Fists at Clouds/Sky/The World' or 'The Ep That Will Probably Kill The Show'. Because Paul and Wayne have decided to call out the pop culture trends which they think are most over-rated ... and absolutely NOTHING is safe.
Dare to take the challenge? Tune in to find out what pop culture trends earn the ire of podcasters who have been around for almost eight years ... as The Countdown may not continue!

Knock at the Cabin & Magic Mike’s Last Dance reviews
Tuesday Feb 14, 2023
Tuesday Feb 14, 2023
Two reviews for the price of one this week, as Wayne has been a busy podcaster, catching two films, while Paul was off chasing snow in Japan - even though he made time to see the more horror-y film. (Big surprise.)

Countdown #410
It's time to return to a fan favourite format - the Top 10 Last 10! - as the boys review ten of their most recent viewings from worst to best, with nothing else linking the films other than the fact they were recently seen.
Of course this means more of the guys reviewing their favourite genres, so prepare for horror aplenty from Paul, while Wayne is all aboard the Rom-Com train. But who has the list that, for once, they're quite happy with? And who is left ruing their life choices?

Babylon review
Tuesday Feb 07, 2023
Tuesday Feb 07, 2023
Damian Chazelle reportedly helped a studio out of a bind when he agreed to direct First Man, and now the studio system is paying him back by letting him write and direct a film about the decline of the Golden Age of Hollywood that is over three hours long ... and barely contains a plot.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre review
Tuesday Jan 31, 2023
Tuesday Jan 31, 2023
About a year back, this latest Guy Ritchie film trailer was all over YouTube and it was slated for release in April. Then it completely disappeared, only to re-surface with nary a ripple this month.
The boys felt compelled to check it out and now report back to you as clearly no-one else has seen it (given the exceptionally poor box office). Among other things, they explain why the film disappeared, debate over its merits (or lack thereof) and wonder whether this really might be the end for Guy Ritchie and his 25 year career.
Find out whether luck really is a Fortune, as The Countdown continues ...

Final Thoughts Including Potential Spoilers: 22:52 - 23:54
CORRECTION: The budget for this film has been amended to be about $50 million. Not the $130 that Paul originally read.
