Well, they can't all be winners ...
For every ying there is a yang, and in the case of films about war, for every 1917 there is a Midway. This atrocious attempt at a WWII film carries the dubious honour of being the most expensive independent film ever made, but all the money in the world couldn't save this script, nor the performances provided by most within it. So let Paul and Wayne be your canaries in cages and save you from seeing the awfulness of this Roland Emmerich (unintentional) disaster (film), as The Countdown continues ...

Always love your entertaining assessments guys. My Dad just told me he loves this movie, much more than 1917, which I took him to. I guess there's a movie type for everyone. As for Chinese history, I find it interesting to hear the word neutral used. Considering China had been at war with Japan since 1937 and that the US had lent support to China in 1940, they were in an alliance. As for the lack of Chinese weaponry, one only needs to read about China's 100 years of humiliation, beginning with the First Opium War. Chinese history is incredibly complex, especially this period.
