Episode 44: Top 10 Last 10 #6
Monday Feb 01, 2016
Monday Feb 01, 2016
This week the guys settle in to mini-review a wide range of the films they've most recently seen, starting with the worst and ending with the best. Yes it's the sixth volume of the Top 10 Last 10 countdowns.
Can Wayne sit through and enjoy a long movie? Will Paul review too many indie horror films? And which of the guys thinks The Night Before is a good comedy? (Hint: There are no prizes for guessing correctly.) Oh and stick around until the end of the Ep to hear one of the new series of promos we've cut to advertise the show!
Promos featured this week are for The Mike Jolitz show available on Spreaker at https://www.spreaker.com/user/mikejolitz (he's still working on iTunes), and for our good friends and all round great podcasters, the Epic Films Guys. Episode 43: The Hateful Eight review & Top 10 Westerns
Monday Jan 25, 2016
Monday Jan 25, 2016
Strap on your six shooters, tilt your stetson, and make sure your best spurs are a-janglin', because this week The Countdown goes west! Starting with a review of Quentin Tarantino's 8th film, The Hateful Eight, Paul and Wayne explore many things Western - and more specifically spend the whole podcast debating what does and does not constitute a Western (Hint: Wayne's definition is broad enough to "almost" include The Last Samurai.)
During their countdown, Paul defends the old school Westerns while somehow managing to miss classics like Once Upon a Time in the West, while Wayne mixes farts with a pensive Kevin Costner by way of Robert Rodriguez (good luck working that one out). The boys also have time to premiere a new segment created by good friend of the show, Rosco.
Promos this week are from our two recent guests. Firstly big ups to The Epic Films Guys who have opened up a whole new audience for us and are top blokes to boot. Episode 42: Best & WORST Films Made From Video Games (w/ The Something Pod)
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
Tuesday Jan 19, 2016
This week the boys take aim at a VERY easy target - films made from video games. Recognising they're ready to open up a can of whupp-ass on every single example of such a film, they wisely invite Dan and Kev from the Something Something Podcast to provide some balance to proceedings.
Somehow, Dan and Kev find five good video game films, while Paul and Wayne lament about having to pick three. And then things get a tad interesting as Dan and Paul disagree about what qualifies as the worst examples of such films, while Wayne and Kev do a damned fine job as mediators. And stick around after the final song for a little taste of some behind the scenes madness ...
BIG thanks to Dan and Kev for guesting! Check out their show and leave a rating/review at https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/something-something/id987075905?mt=2 and follow them on twitter @TheSomethingPod

After months of discussion and careful planning, the podcast crossover event you've all been waiting for (we assume) is here! Nick and Justin from the Epic Film Guys join Paul and Wayne to take a detailed look at the new film from Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Inarritu, The Revenant. And you might be surprised who absolutely loves this film out of the four, and who is more reserved in their recommendation, despite DiCaprio, Innaritu and the film all cleaning up at the Golden Globes since recording took place ...
Things get a little more prickly - though still peppered with many laughs - as the four then countdown their favourite 10 Leo films, with Nick eventually unleashing one of his legendary rants (complete with theme song!) while Paul, Wayne and Justin each chime in with some surprising choices...
HUGE thanks to Nick and Justin for joining Wayne and Paul on this episode! Follow them on twitter @EpicFilmGuys or track them down on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/epicfilmguys/ or via their website http://epicfilmguys.podbean.com/

Episode 40: Point Break review & Worst 10 Remakes
Monday Jan 04, 2016
Monday Jan 04, 2016
The boys are back for 2016! It's also Wayne's birthday, so he's picked the film to review, and wow, it's a stinker: the remake of the 1991 action-cheese classic, Point Break. The boys tee off on this abysmal remake - and be warned, they spoil away in the hope of dissuading others from making the mistake of actually seeing it. They then get into their countdown of the worst remakes ever made, with Paul, for once, being nice to Wayne on his birthday and letting him skate over all kinds of thin ice without taking him to task for it. Then there's the promo of another #podernfamily podcast, the Poop Culture Podcast @ https://soundcloud.com/poop-culture before a HUGE announcement about the next podcast is made. It revolves around our brothers in the United States, the Epic Film Guys at http://epicfilmguys.podbean.com/ You won't want to miss what's coming, and in the meantime, please check out their fantastic podcast!
